To
Dr BVR Mohan Reddy (Former Chairman - NASSCOM)
Dr Sandeep Reddy Vanga (Physiotherapist and Film Maker)
Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Limited (NSE: DRREDDY, BSE: 500124, NYSE: RDY)
Give up your old religion and caste;
Let’s join “Humanity” religion and create our own caste system...!
Let’s unite all the citizens and create
“Akhand Bharat – a United India”.
- Have you ever seen any student protesting against caste-based reservations?
- Have you ever seen any debate on loopholes in the reservation system so far in digital/print/social media? In Parliament or State Assemblies?
- Do you know what happened to those who lost the opportunity to study due to caste-based reservations?
- Do you know why the GOI introduced EWS reservations in 2019 by making a constitutional amendment?
- Do you have any idea how caste/religion interferes with the country's economic development and society as a whole?
- Do you think it’s compulsory for you to associate yourself with a particular caste/religion to excel in your field…serve the nation…or to …lead a happy life?
- Do you think there is a need to categorise people, and treat them differently, just because of their birth? Or who their parents are?
What I want from you?
Remove all suffixes and prefixes (especially those representing family/caste/religion) from your name and change your name to First Name and Last Name format, and create your own caste/community based on your last name. Then, request others to join your caste/community.
For Example:
My name is “Veesam Chandra Reddy”; I
got this name from my grandfather, which I don’t want to endore anymore. I am changing my name to Bharat Ajatashatru.
Here, ‘Bharat’ is my first name
and ‘Ajatashatru’ is my last name. I have chosen ‘Bharat’ as my first name because
I wanted to draw my identity from this motherland (you can keep your actual
name which your parents gave, but do not keep any prefixes or suffixes which
are shared by people who are not your parents).
The literal meaning of ‘Ajatashatru’ (Last
Name) is “one whose enemy has never been born – a warrior.” I have chosen this
name because I decided to protect my motherland from all the evils. My name
gives me the motivation to do that job. I request others, who are interested in
protecting this motherland to choose my last name (Ajatashatru). This process will
create a ‘Warriors’ caste/community.
In the same way, I request you to change
your name to first name and last name format. Also, ask your followers to do
the same and create a caste/community based on your shared last name, and what
you are committed to.
To: Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Limited
I request Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Limited to remove the caste identifier from its name. Also, if possible, I request them to choose a name that inspires others to set up such more companies. Also, I request them to ask other companies to change their names if they have similar family/caste/community identifiers in their names.
Why I have chosen only (Dr) Reddys?
My parents are illiterates, and I
studied in a government school. Despite not receiving proper guidance, I
studied very hard to get good marks and ranks. But, still, I was not able to
secure a seat in a good college due to the caste-based reservations. It took me
almost five years to get a PhD admission. I debated and questioned the
loopholes in the caste-based reservations. I always wanted the reservations to
be given based on the economic condition of the citizens, not based on the caste.
During the discussions and debates on
the caste-based reservations, I heard these words from my friends who belong to
BC, SC, and ST communities; all Reddys are rich....they encourage other Reddys
only.… Reddys are proud and discriminate people based on their caste…why do you
people keep this Reddy tag in your name…will you remove the Reddy tag from your
name if the reservations provided based on the economic condition… this Reddy
tag comes from birth. Nobody can use it unless they are born in that community...society
never treats us equivalent to you …even if we become IAS or IPS, still we won’t
be respected by others…even if we join a college or any Govt service based on
pure merit, then also we considered inferior to other peers, labelling us as ‘Quota’
candidates.. etc....! This is why I have chosen only people with ‘Reddy’ name
tags.
During these debates, there was a kind
of consensus that if all people remove these extra caste-related suffixes and
prefixes from their names (this would allow us to reach social equality) and
declare they do not have any caste (which comes from the parents), then
reservations could be converted entirely to economic status-based.
GOI introduced the EWS (Economically
Weaker Sections) quota in reservations in line with this consensus. Now, if we can
convince people to remove the caste identifiers from their names, then
reservations can be converted completely based on the economic status of the
citizens. As I am completely in favour of this, I am taking the initiative to
request people to remove caste identifiers from their names and declare that
they do not have a caste which comes from their parents.
What is the meaning of the word “Doctor”.…? ‘Professor’, ‘Scientist’ or 'Physician'?
Being ‘Doctors’, how can you stop others from becoming “Doctors”?. How the caste can play a role in deciding who becomes a “Doctor”. Why should we prevent someone from becoming a doctor… just because of their birth and who their parents are? Does the country need more ‘Doctors’ or more ‘Reddys’? You wanted to be a doctor to serve the nation or the Reddy community/caste? If for the country, what is stopping you from joining this cause? Let’s focus on creating more ‘Doctors’ instead of ‘Reddys’.
Is ‘Hinduism’ or ‘Hindu Dharma’ stopping
you from doing this?
Have you ever heard of these shlokas?
“Acharya Devo Bhava” – a teacher
is God.
“Vaidyo Narayano Harihi” – a doctor
should be considered as a form of Lord Narayana (The God).
“Yada yada hi dharmasya glanirbhavati
bharata, Abhythanamadharmasya tadatmanam srijamyaham , Paritranaya sadhunang
vinashay cha dushkritam, Dharmasangsthapanarthay sambhabami yuge yuge”
– Every
time in India, millennium after millennium, whenever there is a defect in the
path of dharma (righteous living) and for the destruction of evil, I (the God)
will take rebirth to protect that dharma.
Sacred texts of Hinduism considered teachers
and doctors as equivalents to God. And whenever evil (adharma) becomes dominant
in society, God will himself come to this earth to protect the good people.
Being equivalent to God, don’t you
think you have some moral obligation to do something against the country's
caste/religion-related evils?
Please look at these Shlokas…
“Ayam nijah paro veti gananaa
laghuchetasam, Udaar charitaanam to vasudhaiwa kutumbakam”
- He is mine, he is another, not mine-
such are thoughts of narrow-minded people. For the noble-minded, the whole
world is a family.
“Om Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve
Santu Nir-Aamayaah, Sarve Bhadraanni Pashyantu, Maa Kashcid-Duhkha-Bhaag-Bhavet
, Om Shaantih Shaantih Shaantih”
- May everyone
be happy, may everyone be free from all diseases, may everyone see goodness and
auspiciousness in everything, may none be unhappy or distressed, Om peace,
peace, peace!
Hinduism always promoted peace and considered the whole world as a single-family.
Reddys were kings, and who practised Rajdharma?
Rajdharma is the welfare of the people
(moral duty). Its spirit is to ensure peace, justice and prosperity for the
people. If Reddys were kings and practised Rajdharma, what stops you from
working for this cause?
Let’s unite all Doctors and Reddys, and
create “Akhand Bharat – a United India”.
I also expect that the GOI will
support us in changing our names by developing an easy platform where we can
get our legal documents (with the new names) quickly.
I hope all of you will support me in this regard and make this campaign a huge success.
If you wish to meet me in person,
please let me know. I will be available in Hyderabad till 12th June
2022.
Sincerely,
Doctoral Candidate, DoMS, IIT Roorkee
